Just now, the Realme GT7 Pro has set a new low-price record for Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition phones, making it the most affordable flagship with this processor. The prices for different versions are as follows:
12GB+256GB version: 3,599 CNY ≈ 40,670 INR (original price 3,699 CNY ≈ 41,800 INR)
16GB+256GB version: 3,899 CNY ≈ 44,060 INR
12GB+512GB version: 3,999 CNY ≈ 45,190 INR
16GB+512GB version: 4,299 CNY ≈ 48,580 INR
16GB+1TB version: 4,799 CNY ≈ 54,230 INR
These prices are highly attractive, even 400 CNY cheaper than the second-cheapest Snapdragon 8 flagship, the iQOO 13. The GT7 Pro also includes a new flat, subtly curved display, finally moving away from the traditional 3D dual-curve design found in previous flagships.
The display is a large 6.78-inch Samsung-made screen with 1.5K+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Eco² technology, max brightness of 1000 nits (2000 nits peak), and hardware-level DC dimming. It also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The back design has been updated from a centered circular deco to a square deco in the top left, with a unique “star-tier” design for added distinction. The Realme logo is now on the bottom left of the back, creating a more balanced look.
Color options include “Light Domain White,” “Star Titanium,” and a special “Mars Exploration Edition” with an orange-red Mars texture using AG “Red Star Sands” technology. The phone dimensions are 162.45 x 76.89 x 8.55 mm, weighing approximately 222.8g, with a camera bump of 3.48 mm.
The body is slimmer than previous models, with a reduced camera bump by 1.62 mm, thanks to a lighter, less protruding IMX882 periscope telephoto lens. However, the IMX882 is a smaller 1/1.95-inch sensor compared to the previous IMX890.
Battery Life
The Realme GT7 Pro features a massive 6500mAh battery, the largest among new flagships, with 120W fast wired charging that reaches 50% in 14 minutes. Unfortunately, wireless charging is not available.
Performance and Other Features
The GT7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition, with a metal frame and glass back, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, LivePhoto, infrared remote control, and more.
In summary, the GT7 Pro’s key selling points are its 1.5K custom Samsung display, Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, 3x periscope telephoto camera, and its powerful 6500mAh + 120W fast charging combination. While some peripheral specs have been slightly downgraded, the 3,599 CNY price tag makes it an impressive value.
Another similar option, the Redmi K80 Pro, is also releasing this month. Last year, the GT5 Pro was slightly cheaper than the K70 Pro. Will the new K80 Pro make a comeback this time around?
