Redmi K80 Series Full Specs Leaked: Could Be Xiaomi’s Best Value Phone of the Year

The Redmi K80 Pro is one of the last Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition phones yet to be released this year. Xiaomi executive Wang Teng mentioned they will hold a livestream on November 7th, during which they’ll reveal some details about the Redmi K80 series, so fans should stay tuned.

According to current leaks, the Redmi K80 series will include only a standard version and a Pro version. The “E” version is rumored to be replaced by the Turbo series, which makes sense since the Turbo series has developed its own identity, overlapping with the “E” model’s position.

Display

The Redmi K80 series will continue to feature a 2K flat display across all models, with upgraded materials from C8 to C9, providing better visuals and improved power efficiency. Additionally, Dragontrail Glass protection will be used (not the latest version), and the series will include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Battery

All models will have large battery capacities, with wireless charging making a return. The K80 Pro will reportedly have a 6000mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. The standard version may have an even larger battery, supporting 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Camera

A recent image posted by a Xiaomi executive revealed the phone’s back, showing a circular camera deco in the top left corner, closely resembling earlier render leaks and slightly similar to the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro design.

In summary, the hardware upgrades for the Redmi K80 series are notable, with specs like the 2K flat display, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, wireless charging, and high-level dust and water resistance becoming standard across the series. It seems that even the standard version will offer strong value.

The K80 Pro, meanwhile, will be even more “Pro” than before. Last year’s K70 Pro faced strong competition from the GT5 Pro; now it’s the K80 Pro’s turn to make an impression. What do you think its starting price will be? models will feature the same 50MP “Light Hunter 800” main sensor used in the previous K70 series, with a 1/1.55-inch sensor size and optical image stabilization (OIS). For telephoto capabilities, the K80 Pro will upgrade to a 50MP JN5 sensor with 3x optical zoom, offering enhanced zoom performance with telephoto macro functionality. The ultra-wide lens has also been upgraded from 12MP to 32MP. The standard K80 model is unlikely to include a telephoto lens.

Performance and Other SpecsThe standard Redmi K80 will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the K80 Pro will have the latest Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition. Both models will come with a metal frame and impact-resistant glass on the front and back, as well as IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance.
