A Massive 7000mAh Battery: iQOO Z10 Pushes Boundaries with Its Insane Features

As 2024 draws to a close, smartphone manufacturers continue to unveil new models. Besides the confirmed Redmi Turbo 4, iQOO is also set to launch a new device. This phone features a massive 6400mAh silicon-carbon anode battery, with an expected launch price of around 1999 yuan.

The device in question is the iQOO Z9 Turbo Long Battery Life Edition.

The Z9 Turbo already boasts a 6000mAh battery, so launching a new phone for an extra 400mAh might seem redundant. However, iQOO disagrees, believing that if this 400mAh addition can drive more sales, it’s a worthwhile move.

Originally, this phone was supposed to launch alongside the iQOO Z9 Turbo+, but for unknown reasons, its release was delayed until now.

Unfortunately, the timing is no longer ideal, as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones have already dropped to starting prices of 1800 yuan. At 1999 yuan, the Z9 Turbo Long Battery Life Edition lacks competitive pricing.

Still, this device underscores iQOO’s commitment to equipping its Z-series phones with large batteries.

Next year, the iQOO Z10 series is rumored to feature a standard 7000mAh battery, a 1000mAh increase over the Z9 series’ 6000mAh capacity.

Indeed, the 7000mAh silicon-carbon anode “Blue Ocean” battery is larger than some power banks. With this, users might no longer need to carry extra backup power sources.

iQOO Z10’s features are simply insane!

Though other phones on the market also feature large 7000mAh batteries (like the Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro with a 7050mAh battery and the Realme Neo 7 with a 7000mAh battery), they serve different purposes.

The Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro+, a gaming phone, prioritizes performance over battery life. For extended gaming sessions, the 7050mAh battery is essential.

Meanwhile, the Realme Neo 7, powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor, offers long battery life (up to three days with light usage) but isn’t as gaming-focused.

The iQOO Z10, equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Ultimate processor, features low power consumption, supporting up to three days of everyday use.

Finally, smartphones are moving past the “charge once a day” era to a “charge once every two or three days” model.

The battery employs a new-generation silicon-carbon anode technology jointly developed by Vivo and CATL, offering higher energy density while being smaller and thinner in size.

Performance Highlights

The iQOO Z10 Turbo features the Snapdragon 8s Ultimate processor, Qualcomm’s next-gen mid-range flagship chip. Built on the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate, its AnTuTu score lies between Snapdragon 8 Ultimate and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, estimated at around 1.9 million, slightly outperforming the Dimensity 8400.

The Snapdragon 8s Ultimate will debut with the Xiaomi Civi 5, followed by the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, and later the iQOO Z10 Turbo.

The Z10 Turbo also features 6K-level large-area VC liquid cooling and an independent display chip (Turbo), providing outstanding gaming performance.

According to leaks, the iQOO Z10 Turbo will sport a 1.5K 144Hz narrow-bezel eye-protective flat screen and a 50MP dual-camera setup.

The Z9 series (Z9, Z9 Turbo, and Z9 Turbo+) comes with a 6.78-inch OLED flat display from TCL CSOT using C8 light-emitting materials, supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. For eye protection, it features 3840Hz ultra-high-frequency PWM dimming and DC-like dimming.

The Z10 series will likely retain this excellent display.

Camera System

The imaging system is unremarkable for a mid-range device. It uses the Sony LYT-600 sensor for its main camera (1/1.95-inch sensor size, supporting OIS). The ultra-wide-angle camera is 8MP, while the 2MP filler lens has been omitted.

Pricing

The iQOO Z10 series will debut with three models:

Z10x: Entry-level 5G model priced at approximately 1499 yuan for the 12GB+256GB version.

Z10: Standard edition priced at around 1799 yuan.

Z10 Turbo: High-end model priced at around 1999 yuan.
