In an NBA regular-season game, the Nuggets defeated the Pistons 134-121. After the game, head coach Michael Malone shared his thoughts in an interview.
Reflecting on the game, Malone said:
“Tonight, we didn’t respect the game of basketball. I’m very disappointed. Heading into the final quarter, we reminded the players that this Pistons team has a history of making comeback wins—they never give up. They’re a team that plays with a lot of fight. We warned our players they would push the pace, crash the boards, and capitalize on transition opportunities. Yet, we still let them do exactly that.”
In this game, the Nuggets entered the fourth quarter with a 25-point lead. However, the Pistons’ bench staged a strong comeback, forcing the Nuggets to bring back their starters to barely secure the victory.
