Fast Technology, November 8 – Last night, Audi’s partnership project with SAIC saw its latest developments as Audi officially unveiled its new luxury electric brand, AUDI, along with the debut of the first concept car, the AUDI E.
According to reports, the AUDI E concept car will begin mass production and delivery in 2025. Over the next three years, this project will launch three all-electric models, targeting the B- and C-segment markets.
The AUDI E concept car is the first high-end intelligent connected EV built on a new platform jointly developed by Audi and SAIC, named the “Advanced Digitized Platform.” This platform is designed specifically for the Chinese market and features a zonal electronic architecture that supports next-generation smart vehicle functions and over-the-air (OTA) updates for the entire vehicle.
The concept car is positioned as a pure electric Sportback with a closed grille commonly seen in new energy vehicles. It features a stylish, futuristic wraparound light bar and a roof-mounted LiDAR. Unfortunately, the new brand cannot use Audi’s iconic four-ring logo; instead, it has a luminous “AUDI” wordmark.
In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4870/1990/1460 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2950 mm, positioning it as a mid-size vehicle. The side profile is dynamic and elegant, with popular hidden door handles, electronic side mirrors, and low-drag wheels.
The interior embraces a minimalist design, with no physical buttons on the dashboard. It features a seamless large display that integrates all essential functions. Official sources state that the AUDI E concept car includes an AI-powered virtual assistant, which can be operated through touch or voice commands and is capable of emotional interaction.
Advanced driving assistance is, of course, not lacking. The concept car is equipped with advanced driving and parking assistance functions, supporting both urban and highway driving. It also features progressive front-wheel steering, all-wheel steering, and air suspension.
In terms of performance, the car uses a dual-motor electric quattro drive system, delivering a combined maximum output of 570 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. It comes with a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery and uses 800V charging technology, providing a CLTC range of over 700 km on a full charge. A 10-minute charge can add 370 km of range.
