Apple has revealed that the upcoming iOS 18.2 update will introduce the AirPods Pro 2 hearing test feature to nine additional countries. The newly supported regions include Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. This feature was first introduced in late October in the United States and selected other locations.
Designed specifically for adults, the five-minute hearing test allows users to assess their ability to detect sounds at varying frequencies. It identifies potential hearing loss and offers users a categorized summary of their hearing condition along with tailored follow-up recommendations.
Furthermore, iOS 18.2 will unlock the ability for AirPods Pro 2 to operate as clinical-grade hearing aids in the UAE, enhancing their utility as a hearing support tool. With these advancements, Apple demonstrates its commitment to extending the AirPods Pro 2’s role in hearing health. It’s essential to note that these features require firmware version 7B19 or higher to function correctly.
