iPhone 16: IP68-certified
Xiaomi 15: IP68-certified
OnePlus 13: IP68 + Certified
Honor Magic7: IP68 + IP69-certified
,Nubia Z70 Ultra: IP68 + IP69-certified
It’s clear that IP68 water and dust resistance has become an industry standard for flagship smartphones. Even some mid-range devices are starting to include it. For flagship phones, the bar has been raised even higher, with new models now incorporating IP69 certification. Without IP69, previous flagships suddenly feel less appealing. Today, Nubia officially announced that the Z70 Ultra supports both IP68 and IP69. With IP69, Nubia Z70 Ultra takes a major leap forward. The IP69 rating ensures protection even in high-temperature and high-pressure environments, meaning you can take your phone into the shower or steam room without worry.
Although the announcement focused on the IP68 and IP69 ratings, keen observers might have noticed something even more exciting: the front design of the Nubia Z70 Ultra has been fully revealed, and it’s absolutely stunning. It features a sharp flat display with an all-screen design and no visible cutouts. The ultra-narrow bezels make the display look even more impressive. This is what many envision as the perfect full-screen phone, and even Samsung might be impressed with its design.
Specifications: Beyond Just Looks
A great design is only part of the story. Performance matters too, and the Nubia Z70 Ultra doesn’t disappoint. It boasts the latest “full-power Android trio”:
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition
Memory: LPDDR5X RAM
Storage: UFS 4.0
The display, developed in collaboration with BOE, is a 1.5K true full-screen design with no cutouts. It offers:
Peak Brightness: 4000 nits
Pixel Density: 430 PPI under the screen
On the software side, the new Nebula AIOS has been announced as completely ad-free, a long-awaited feature that deserves praise.
Camera and Additional Features
While the camera specifications haven’t been fully disclosed, Nubia’s president has hinted at the continued use of a 35mm main sensor. Earlier photo samples shared by the president showcased excellent quality, leaving no doubt about its capabilities. Features like telephoto and macro shooting are also expected.
With the addition of IP68 and IP69 ratings, the upcoming reveals about the battery, charging, and camera are likely to impress as well. Given the commitment shown in previous generations, there’s little reason to worry.
Price Speculation
What remains to be seen is the price. If the Z70 Ultra starts at the same price as its predecessor (3999 CNY), it’s likely to fly off the shelves, especially since competitors have been raising prices. What do you think?
