In a post-game interview following the NBA regular season game where the Knicks defeated the Timberwolves 133-107, Karl-Anthony Towns reflected on his promise to the late Flip Saunders.
Towns said, “Before he drafted me, I promised him that I would give everything for this team. After he passed away, I became even more determined to fulfill that promise. I always thought he would be here to see me fulfill it.”
In the game, Towns played 37 minutes, making 10 of 12 field goals, 5 of 5 three-pointers, and 7 of 9 free throws, finishing with a game-high 32 points, 20 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.
